WEST GATE BRIDGE MEMORIAL PARK

M S in conjunction with Coomes Consulting, Arup, and John Horan and Associates have won a national competition to develop the West Gate Bridge Memorial Park ñ the site where the span of the bridge collapsed, on 15th,October 1970, during construction. 35 workers died in this workplace accident.


ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS

Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne, are developing a new indigenous garden. M S together with artist Edwina Kearney are developing a ceramic landscape, working title ìanabranchingî or ìephemeral lakeî. The project is a collaboration with landscape architects Taylor Cullity Lethlean and the Royal Botanic Gardens in the development of the ìAustralian Gardenî.

OLYMPIC PARK OF CERAMIC SCULPTURE

M S has been invited to make a sculpture for the development of this park in Athens, in readiness for the Olympic Games in 2004. The concept is that each host city of the Modern Era will be represented by a ceramic sculpture. Ceramic so as to link with a cultural tradition of ceramic sculpture in Greece. MS has been selected to represent Melbourne, the host of the 1956 Olympic Games. A European based selection committee have selected 20 sculptors.
